How about some drinks recommended by Dracula?

That's right, you heard me. I've got a brand new release, but this post isn't all about promo. Plus, it's Memorial Day Weekend. So, I thought I would share a few recipes to help you party harder.

Before I get to the drinks, I'd like to thank all my dedicate fans who have been waiting for this book. This is book four in the Lilith Mercury Werewolf Hunter series. I am grateful for every single email or Facebook post that asked when the next book was coming out. I am thrilled to know you wanted to read it that much. :) So, without further ado, here are the details on Original Sin.

Peter was Lilith's first love--and the first person to call her a monster. Despite their past, Lilith would save him if she could, but when Peter is infected with lycanthropy and becomes determined to challenge Marco for the position of lupinus regalis, wolf king, she faces a hard choice.

Warning: This book contains graphic sex, graphic violence, and graphic language. No werewolves were harmed in the making of this book.

I'm also very proud of the way the cover turned out for this one. I smile every time I look at it. In my mind (as I worked on the cover) this image represents the first time Lilith mentions Marco in Book One of the series (Red), when she saw him standing outside in the rain. Very symbolic and drool-worthy. Ha. Ha.

Now, why drink recipes and why Dracula? Well, because Dracula is also a character in the Lilith Mercury series. In this installment, he opens a club called Original Sin. When I first wrote Original Sin, I also wrote a complete menu for the club. I even wrote all the Laws of Vampiric Tolerance  They aren't things that are just referenced in the series. I actually wrote them out so I would know what I was talking about later.

So, in the name of fun and a good celebration this Memorial Day Weekend, I thought I would share some of the drinks that are mentioned in Original Sin. All ingredients should be mixed to taste. Have fun!

Kat drinks this one -

Busted Cherry: Blackberry Infused Vodka, Godiva Liqueur & Cherry Juice

Elijah drinks this one -

Tryst: Everclear, Jolt cola

Bade drinks this one -

Tie Me To The Bedpost: Coconut Rum, Midori, Citrus Vodka & Lime Juice

Bade and Lilith drink this together. That's right, Bade and Lilith are drinking together.

Rough Trade: Vodka, Strawberry liqueur, Orange juice

And of course, the clubs signature drink.

Original Sin: White rum, Apricot brandy, Lemon juice, Superfine sugar, Grenadine

Can a vampire assassin find true love?

I've been so busy lately that I forgot to share the details of my newest release, Wicked City. This is another book whose contract I chose not to renew and instead publish the book on my own.

Since its previous publication, Wicked City has been expanded by more than 2,000 words. It has also been thoroughly re-edited. Plus, I'm very excited about the new cover art. I designed this one myself along with a few others. Readers and friends on my Facebook page voted for their favorite cover for Wicked City and here it is.

This story was inspired by so many things, I'm not sure how to sum it all up. If there is one character who has more of my "voice" than the others in this, it would have to be Synn. He has my sense of humor and definitely my fashion sense. LOL

Wicked City is a combination of gothic fantasy, horror, and romance.

Here is the blurb and purchase details.

Lavinia accepted what she is a long time ago. She isn't squeamish when it comes to blood or her sexuality. After all, both blood and sex are necessary to sustain a succubus. She is a well-trained assassin. Working for her fellow vampire and occasional lover comes naturally for her. When she is sent out to kill someone, they die. It’s that simple. But what if her target means more to her than he should?

Synn thought he knew what he was getting into when he encountered the succubus that first night, but he may still be in over his head. She was sent to kill him, and still he wants her. One man has never been enough for Lavinia, however, the wizard Synn thinks he’s man enough for the job.

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, graphic language, and graphic sex, including multiple partners.

This book was previously published elsewhere. It has since been revised and expanded. During its previous release, Wicked City was a best seller on Fictionwise.

Wicked City is also available at All Romance Ebooks.

Here what a few reviewers have said.

Regina, Coffee Time Romance
Whew! Wicked City is one very hot and sexy read! Ms. Kitts starts off with a bang and keeps going until you read the very last page. I loved it!

Reader Review from Barnes & Noble
I enjoyed everything about this story, from the relationships of the characters, to the awesome world of Wicked City. If you like Underworld, or erotic paranormal stories, or just a good romance, you will enjoy this. It's got so many elements in one. There is action, drama, a bit of horror, and a nice love story.

Enjoy!

Werewolves Can't Fly by Berengaria Brown is out today!

Please join me in congratulating Berengaria on what sounds like an awesome new release!

Get ready for Halloween with a hot werewolf ménage!

“Werewolves Can’t Fly” which released on 3 October, is the sequel to “Flight to Joy”, but you don’t have to have read the first book to enjoy this one.

“Flight to Joy” blurb

Mermae can fly. She’s had to keep it a secret, and has never met anyone else like her. One evening she thinks she sees something as she lands after a flight, but decides she’s mistaken, so walks home.
Kade sees a woman flying and is intrigued. He can fly, yet has never met anyone else who can. So he follows her to her apartment to learn her address, then hurries home to his partner, Iain, to tell him the good news.

And now the story continues…

“Werewolves Can’t Fly” blurb:

Mermae joined Kade and Iain four months ago. Halloween is almost here and Iain, a werewolf, is desperate for them to commit to each other.

But how can they keep their secrets in a city? And if they move out of the city how will they earn money and live?

Iain asked werewolves Dwyer and Nelson, who live on a secure farm, if his family can bond there and run on Halloween. Dwyer and Nelson are thrilled Iain has found his third person and welcome them to a little hidden cabin.

The mating is wonderful, but all their other problems remain unresolved. Is there a solution to them?

PG -13 EXCERPT

They lay on their sides in bed, sweaty and relaxed, satiated, yet Iain wanted more. With Halloween so close now, he wanted to convince-- no, that's wasn't fair. All decisions had to be made freely. He wanted Mermae and Kade to understand how badly he needed them to mate, to commit to each other, so his wolf side would be fulfilled.

Hoping he could explain himself properly, Iain said, "Halloween is special to a werewolf."

"What, you're going to howl at the moon?" teased Mermae.

He tugged her closer to him. "You never know, I might. But I really will need to run properly that night, and I want you both to be beside me. Traditionally, we fuck, then run, then fuck again on Halloween."

Mermae slid up on an elbow so she could look into his face. "There's more than that, though, isn't there?"

"You're a very perceptive woman. Yes, there is. We usually fuck the first time as humans and the second time as wolves, but that can't happen in our triad. But the ritual, yeah I need to complete the ritual. I..." Iain broke off. He didn't want to pressure her, or Kade, although Kade knew a bit more about how important this all was to him.

"You want us to commit." Mermae spoke slowly yet firmly.

Iain rolled over and lay flat on his back staring at her face, trying to read the expression behind her eyes. He nodded. What if she turns me down? What if she isn't ready yet to take this step?

"Okay. Let's just go through this all again. You can bite me without turning me into a werewolf. You've bitten Kade and nothing's ever happened to him. Right?"

"Yes." Kade spoke at the same time as him. Iain was going to add more, but it was obvious Mermae was still thinking, so he waited for her to finish.

"The commitment is binding. Once we commit it's for life. Except that you're going to live a hell of a lot longer than Kade and me. Does this mean even after we die you can never commit to another two people?"

"Yes, it does. But I've been told in committed triads that include non-wolves, the humans tend to live quite a lot longer than regular humans. As you know, I've never lived in a pack. We were lone wolves. My three parents and twin brother were killed by hunters when I was a teenager and when I looked for a pack, they were all one male/one female packs, and much bigger than me and..." Once again he couldn't finish what he wanted to say. This was not the time to pull the pity card. Mermae had to decide for herself, not because of anything he said, but because she wanted to commit to him and Kade.

Sex Symbol - Official Trailer

I've done my own book trailers from the beginning, but haven't had the chance to make one in a while. First, royalty free music can be difficult to find. Especially, if you want it to fit the mood correctly. Not to mention, Microsoft Office changed the software I loved so much, the original Movie Maker.

Beyond that, I had my doubts as to whether or not book trailers actually led to more sales or were just pretty to look at.

Regardless, I couldn't resist making a trailer for Sex Symbol. And (drum roll please) here it is. TADA!!!

It has nothing to do with sandpaper underwear

It's been a rough month and not just because I decided to try on some sandpaper underwear. Ha. Ha. Ha. Everything in the world has gone wrong. Thank God I still have my health. Seriously, I am very thankful to have my body (at least that works) fully functioning and still capable of exercise and hopefully losing weight.

It’s been a while since I was able to blog, so I thought you all might find it entertaining to hear why I’ve been absent. At the very least it’s worth a laugh. Or maybe you can relate?

First of all, I’ve had some financial issues. (Anyone who has experienced this knows the stress I'm talking about.) Obviously, I’m not going to get into all that in public, but I can say it’s been a trial. And for the record, I am not rich. So many people think that because you’re a published writer that makes you rich. NOT. (Wow, I’m having a 90’s flashback) My royalties add up to about a part-time income. I’m hoping to change that with hard work and more stories, but I digress.

Aside from the financial stuff, my fridge is leaking, the air in my SUV is broken and it’s ball boiling hot here in Florida right now. We’re talking highs in the 100’s and a humidity level of about 80%. Bleh.

My poor little dog Roscoe is having allergy issues (as am I) because of the drought we’re experiencing. All the dust has us worked up. So, he’s having to wear one of those goofy looking collars to keep from scratching his ears so hard. I include this not only because he looks funny, but because I have to baby him more because of it. He gives me that little face that seems to say, “Mommy, why do I have to wear this damn thing?” And before you know it, I’ve spent an hour watching TV and petting him. HA.

Sooo, where was I? Oh, yeah. To top it all off, my computer (Dell piece of CRAP) crashed for the second time since January. I’ve been out of commission for almost a month. Just as I was beginning a new story too. As it turns out, the motherboard (yeah, it’s a MOTHER all right) keeps going out. This time, they replaced the entire hard drive.

During this time I had a new release that I couldn’t even promote. If you’d like to check it out, the title is Fate’s Embrace and I’m very proud of my second book with Ellora’s Cave.
http://www.jasminejade.com/p-9422-fates-embrace.aspx

Now the good news! As of last week, (thanks to my husband who is handy, has a nice tan, and a cute goatee) the air in the SUV is fixed. Hallelujah!

And as of last night, thanks to God, the repair man, and ME, the computer and all my files are finally restored. As of right now, I am getting back to work on that story. And making a point to avoid sandpaper underwear.

New Release: Sex Symbol

This is my first release with Ellora's Cave:) Woohoo!

http://www.jasminejade.com/p-8698-sex-symbol.aspx

Sex Symbol is the story of Lucy Harper, an ordinary woman who suddenly finds herself in extraordinary circumstances. Not only is her new boyfriend a werewolf, but her new tattoo might be more than a picture of her favorite flower. According to the local werewolf pack, it’s a “sex symbol.”

The Red Light Special, an unedited excerpt from Original Sin

I thought I'd share a little bit of the next book in the Lilith Mercury: Werewolf Hunter Series. This is the one I'm polishing up right now. Enjoy!

I call this excerpt The Red Light Special.

Dracula, who was still standing beside me with his hand on my lower back, began to explain. “Bade works for me.” I looked a question at him and he continued, “Part time anyway.”

“What does he do exactly?” I asked.

“I’m the on the menu,” Bade replied. “For the vampires at least,” he said quickly after the look I gave him. “You see, I like to be bitten, and alpha werewolf is quite the delicacy.”

“You’re on the menu?” I repeated sarcastically.

“That’s right, love. I’m the red light special.”

“We’ve got to stop meeting like this,” I said. Even as I spoke I could feel the smile reaching my eyes. Why did I suddenly have warm fuzzy feelings for Bade? He winked at me then and I decided I didn’t care enough to analyze it right now. Whatever the cause, it felt good to return his smile.

“At least this time we’ve got clothes on,” he teased. His pale blue eyes gleamed with mischief as he extended his big hand to Kat. “The names Bade Garren.” He smiled. “And who might you be?”

She took his hand but seemed beyond speech. Seeing as how Bade was one of the most gorgeous men I’d ever laid eyes on, I couldn’t blame her. However, I felt I should intervene.

“This is my friend Kathryn Roberts,” I said as I leaned in close. It must have looked like I was hugging him, or coping a feel, but in a voice so soft only he could hear I whispered, “If you touch her, I’ll kill you.”

I pulled back to find him smiling. As he released Kat’s hand, I took a step away from Dracula and moved closer to the werewolf. I ran my hands inside the open front of his shirt, and caressed his chest. The sensation was much more pleasurable than I had remembered. The last time Bade and I had any sort of contact, someone had driven a large wooden pole through the right side of his chest. It had been the first time I’d used my powers to heal anyone other than myself. I had felt his desire then, and I could feel it now as I touched him. Desire coursed through his veins, running hot just like his blood.

Up until this moment I had felt slightly threatened by Bade. I knew he wanted to hurt me, but in a good way. Now, as I stood there with my hands inside his shirt, I was nearly overcome. He was so warm and firm underneath my hands. I could feel his muscles shifting with each breath as I moved my hands to touch his sides. His breathing grew faster and I fought the urge to press my lips against his chest. I could tell people were starting to watch us, but I didn’t care. I was no longer frightened of Bade. As a low growl escaped my lips I wondered if he should fear me.

“I see you finished healing,” I said softly as I moved my hand over the left side of his chest to find his silver nipple ring. Bade always wore a silver stud through his left nipple, and I had bitten it off the first time we met.

I’m not sure what came over me when I touched him. It could have been the full moon and the fact that he’s an alpha werewolf. It could have been the fact that I’d gone so long without sex. Maybe it was just that I got hornier around the full moon also, but most likely, it was just Bade.

I leaned in closer and breathed in his scent as I rubbed my face from his stomach to the middle of his chest. That was as far as I could reach, even in heels. He moaned as I continued to rub my face over the fine blond hairs on his chest, and when I flicked my tongue over his nipple ring, he wasn’t the only one who gasped.

I pulled back and smiled shamelessly at an ancient vampire sitting to our right. He didn’t look ancient, but there was something about him that told me otherwise.

“It’s awfully good to see you, Bade,” I purred in my best bedroom voice.

An Introduction to Luis

The following is an unedited excerpt from Brain Dead by Tracey H. Kitts, coming in August from New Concepts Publishing.

On her way out Jane nearly ran into the most devastatingly handsome man she’d ever seen. He was at least six foot three with shoulder length hair so dark it looked almost blue beneath the dim lights. His skin reminded her of porcelain, but this man looked anything but fragile. The night was cool and his long black coat reached to just below his knees. He was wearing black leather pants which left little to the imagination and a button up black shirt. The stranger smiled down at her and Jane looked up into eyes of the deepest blue she’d ever seen.

“Excuse me,” she said breathlessly.

As she walked past him she never broke eye contact with the compelling stranger. Honestly, she didn’t want to turn her back on him. Something in his eyes called to her and made her heart jump so hard that it hurt. He just continued to smile until Jane was forced to turn around. She heard the bell ring above the door and gave a sigh of relief. He was in the store and she was almost to her car.

She tried to grip her keys again so that her house key was between her fingers in case she had to punch someone. But they slipped through her fingers when she walked past the gas pump. Jane was trembling, and as she turned around she found herself staring into those same blue eyes.

“Allow me,” he said, and as he bent down to retrieve her keys Jane caught a whiff of his cologne.
Something stirred within her and she gasped involuntarily.
“It’s lust, pure and simple,” she tried to tell herself.
She had never been so afraid and so aroused at the same time in her life. Although he looked more than capable of taking care of himself, she wasn’t afraid of him physically. She was more afraid of her reaction to him. Jane was no stranger to desire, but she had never experienced anything like this before. Who was this man?

He stood, slowly straightening to his full height.

“My name is Luis,” he said with a smile, “and I am not a mugger.”

His voice was deep and sultry with traces of a French accent.

“Then what are you?” Jane thought.

Rather than handing her the keys Luis took her hand and placed them in her open palm. The hairs on her arm rose when his bare skin touched her and Jane decided it was time to find out who this man was. She opened her mind to him, reaching out psychically toward the stranger. It was like hitting a brick wall. She had never been so thoroughly blocked in her life and nearly stumbled backward.

“Such turmoil in one so young,” he sighed, caressing the back of her hand before he released her.
Jane took a step back and nearly tripped when her butt touched the car door. She had no idea what he meant by that comment and Luis didn’t elaborate. He was a decadent and deadly poison, and if Jane had known who he was she might have ran from him. But with that smile … maybe not.

She couldn’t think of anything to say and something about him gave her chills in both a pleasurable and frightening way. He continued to wow her with that amazingly sensual smile while Jane got in her car and watched him in the rearview mirror until he was out of sight.

Enter The Wolf King

I'm talking about Marco Barak, (pronounced like a military barrack) the alpha werewolf who makes my heart skip a beat. This fictitious character receives on average more fan mail than I do. LOL A few people have asked me to share some more of my sketches so I thought I'd oblige with this drawing of Marco as I see him. This is my favorite sketch of Marco, and there are many:) That's something else Lilith and I have in common. Sometimes we can't get Marco out of our heads unless we put him onto paper.
To me the facial expression and body language say it all. I was listening to Keith Sweat's song "Twisted" while I drew this, because that song in particular always makes me think of Marco. The song begins with the lines, "You know you want my lovin' babe, you got me twisted over you." It goes on to say, "I got what you need right here, babe, so what you gonna do?"
Now if that isn't Marco, I don't know what is. So this is for all you Marco fans out there. I love him just as much as you do, so don't be shy:)

The Dread Moon has a face!

Wow. I was so surprised when I found out two days ago that the latest book in my werewolf hunter series has a cover already! And from the looks of things, this is my hot new vampire:) I'm so excited. The artist really captured the feel of this book, in my opinion, and I can't wait to share it with readers.
