Halloween drinks to die for

I was just sitting here thinking, "Hmmm. What's something fun to blog about for Halloween. And what would people likely be doing besides giving out candy?"

My first thought, going to parties! LOL Well, whether you're at a party, throwing your own party, or giving out candy, or all of the above, you can add one of these drinks to your celebration and crank it up a notch. Personally, I recommend the Zombie Apocalypse. ;)

1. Zombie Apacolypse

1 1/2 parts Absolut Mandrin
1/2 part Malibu
1 part passion fruit puree
1/2 part white grapefruit juice
3/4 part cinnamon schnaps
2 dashes Perno Absinthe

Pour over crushed ice, top with 1/2 part Cappalletti
Feel free to garnish with body parts.

2. Polyjuice Potion

I'm sure Harry Potter fans like me will love this one.
Ingredients should be mixed to taste, and according to how much you want to make.

Lime sherbet
Sprite
Neon green food coloring
Your favorite tequila
Rose's Lime

3. Blood Orange Punch

This one makes enough to serve at a party.

1 cup chilled blood orange juice
4 (12 oz) chilled blackberry sodas
1 cup rum (I recommend The Kracken)
1/4 cup fresh lime juice or Rose's Lime
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 blood orange thinly sliced
Pansies to garnish

Instructions

1. Stir all ingredients together in a large pitcher or punch bowl filled with ice.
2. Add your garnish (and blackberries) and serve immediately.

My readers keep me going

I won't lie, I was having a rough/stressful day today. And then, I decided to take a break and check my email. I got the most wonderful and unexpected letter.

I have asked permission to share excerpts from this letter, but will, of course, maintain the privacy of the reader.

The letter was about Frank and The Werewolf Tamer and the Notte Oscura series. It was from a woman who has, due to physical scars, "always felt like a freak."

She said, "I know it's fiction, and Frank isn't real, but this story has inspired me more than words can say. These people are real to me and even though we haven't met, so are you. Your words made me feel like ... NOT a freak, for the first time in a long time. So, thank you, author I've never met who I hope doesn't think I'm crazy. I appreciate your words."

I cried. Okay, I freaking UGLY cried for about 10 minutes.

I needed to hear this so much. And I am so glad to know that I was able to help someone else. It does my heart good to know that I helped improve the way someone feels about themselves. Naturally, I expressed all of this to her and assured her that I do NOT think she's crazy. I think she is brave for opening up like this to a complete stranger. And I think she is amazing for having the courage to be honest with herself.

You guys matter to me. Each and every one of you. Don't ever doubt that. And please, never hesitate to reach out to me. I will always make the time to respond, because you and what you have to say is important to me.

I am going to save this letter and read it again on days when I wonder if I'm any good at this whole writing thing. I will read it on days when I wonder why I keep going. But most of all, I will read it on days when I feel like a freak.

A Werewolf Cowboy Boxed Set and A Demon In Print

Hi, everyone :)

Sorry for the slight delay in posts. I live in the sticks and I had a disruption in my internet service. But, the good news is this hasn't kept me from writing a new book that will be out this fall called Bloodlines. It has a slight twist on my usual werewolf tales.

After I finish editing Bloodlines, I'll begin working on the second Tris Grima book, Bite of Frost. I've had lots of questions about this new series and I am so grateful that it has been well-received. Rest assured, I haven't forgotten about Tris Grima and her hot gargoyle. **( Though the titles won't be out until this fall, I've uploaded the cover art below so you'll know what to look for.)**

And as always, I'm happy to have you here. Feel free to share this blog with your paranormal loving friends. I'd be glad to have them here as well.

Jacob Warner has done everything within his power to maintain magical control over Kate, but his hold over her is beginning to lose strength, no matter what he does.

Kate’s heart yearns for the past she cannot reclaim, and the man she left behind. As the expression goes, there’s no place like home.

Warning: This series contains some graphic language, and violence. There will be a happy ending.
