First of all my television interview went great! However, as soon as I left the set, the cold I had been so valiantly fighting really started to kick my ass. For the past two days, I've been "sick as a dog," which leads me to my question. Where do these expressions come from? Have you ever wondered exactly how sick a dog is?

ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about the saying "head over heels." I've always wondered why this denotes a special condition since your head is always over your heels. LOL
Being from the South, I'm used to very colorful expressions (e.g., uglier than homemade sin). However, I've often wondered about the much abused name of someone called Sam Hill. "What the Sam Hill do you think you are doing?"

LOL I've heard both of those and wondered myself. What about the expression "Drunk as Cooter Brown?" Makes you wonder who this poor alcoholic was, doesn't it?
