Thou Shalt Do The Dance

I hope someone else has seen Evan Almighty and gets that joke. LOL So, why am I doing "the dance" today? Because Red is still climbing the charts at Fictionwise! Yes, I know I've talked a lot about it lately. That's because this is what's going on in my life right now and I am very excited about it.

I'm not putting it up here to brag. As a matter of fact, I keep talking about it because I'm mostly in shock. The part that isn't in shock is very moved. It's such an amazing feeling to know so many people are not only reading my book, but getting what I have to say. Since they get what I have to say, that means they get me.

Some people go their whole lives without every making that connection to another person. You know, having someone "get" them. To be able to write and to share my thoughts and feelings with the audience is like being able to share little bits and pieces of me. Because that's really what I'm doing.

I am humbled that anyone thought it worthy to even go into print. But to get this kind of response from readers takes my breath away. (That's why I'm having to type about it. LOL Okay, that was a bad joke.)

This is what I've always wanted to do with my life and now I have the chance. Not many people can say that. So, like I said, this isn't a brag. This is another thank you to my readers (because without you guys I wouldn't be here) and a thank you to God. (Because without him I wouldn't be here either.)

So, here are the latest stats on Red. (On Fictionwise)

#4 in the Romance Category

#3 NCP's list

#10 Recent Best Sellers

Red is still moving up!

My mom looked at the ratings earlier and we both had a fit! LOL Red, book one in my werewolf hunter series has moved from #9 to #7 in the Romance category on Fictionwise.

Not only that, but it's #4 on NCP's bestseller list and #1 in NCP's highest rated right now!

Red has moved from #29 to #9

In less than a week, Red has gone from #29 in the Romance category at Fictionwise to #9! And it's #4 on NCP's list! I am thrilled and that is an understatement. I want to thank everyone who has supported and who continue to support this first book in my series. From the bottom of my heart I am delighted that you are enjoying my stories:) My birthday is Saturday and I couldn't have asked for a better present than my book continuing to climb the chart. The only feeling that tops this are the days when my son thinks writing about werewolves is cool. LOL

Plus, it's Earth Day! You can save 10% off on ANY books on Fictionwise today. Cool, huh?

You can find Red here:

Just thought I'd share (and dance a little more) As a matter of fact, this calls for a repost of my happy dance. LOL

Birthday Time

Well, it's hard to believe, but another year has gone by. Already. Tomorrow is my son's birthday and this Saturday is mine. My husband and I share the same birthday, which is kind of neat. Can you believe I still managed to forget it one year? LOL

So, anyways that's what's going on with me right now. I'm working (in between everything else) on editing my latest book, which I hope to finish sometime soon. I believe Eden is the best book I have written so far and cannot wait to show it to my editor:)

We're planning a canoeing trip this weekend with some friends and family and I'm putting the finishing touches on some lecture notes. (Long story I'll explain later) Oh, and right now I'm looking up some rare books for research on ebay:)

That' s about it for the moment. TTFN (Did anyone else think of Tiger?)

A case of the crud

I just wanted to let everyone know I was still around:) I've caught the "crud" that's going around here and haven't had a chance to go through emails or anything for about a week. So, if you've written to me, I will respond:) I promise. It just might not be for a few more days. I won't go through my list of symptoms, but I feel like crap. LOL

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will get back to them and I hope everyone else is well:)

Hillary Obama Roadshow

There were also mixed signals if whether being a woman would help more than hurt Clinton even with women in a wide segment of America. In a Newsweek poll in July 2007, fewer voters said they would vote for a woman candidate for president than a black candidate. Hillary scored just as dismal when asked whether the country was ready for a female president. More said no to this question than said no for a black president. The gender reluctance by big chunks of voters was in part offset by the experience factor. Hillary scored big on this in the polls.

The Hillary distaste in part explained why in February 2007 Hollywood mogul David Geffen, a long time Clinton family cheerleader and campaign bankroller sucker punched Clinton with the knock that she would polarize voters. The implication was that she would be a disaster for the Democrats if she were to get the party presidential bid. Geffen rapped Clinton at the moment that he and some other Hollywood movie big shots pumped a reported cool million dollars into Obama’s campaign coffers.

At the same moment, a slew of conservative hit groups loudly announced they had sunk loads of cash into a pack of “stop Hillary” websites, muckraking pieces and scheduled attack ads on her. They vowed this was just the start of a freewheeling, no holds barred disinformation effort to sabotage her campaign.

All Our Yesterdays

Twenty plus years ago, I was working as a ghost writer for doctors and had the great fortune of meeting editors in New York, Several of them were willing to look at the manuscript and also to give me the names of agents. Here's what happened on both instances. The editors loved the foreign stories and hated the modern one. The agent loved the modern story and hated the historical events. Discouraged, I put the book to rest. The problem was that due to the aging of the yellow paper, this was in the days of typewriters and carbon paper, very little of the manuscript was able to be read. I threw up my hands and threw it away. One day I was looking through some old notebooks and came across the handwritten story, complete with the books I'd used for research. So I sat down and completely changed the modern story and heated up the historical. The book was originally published as a serial since I wondered if the number of fully consummated scenes wouldn't be too much for a reader. The serial took off and NCP decided to put it together as a single volume. The object of my tale is "Never throw any of your writing away. You never know when you can complete it successfully. Janet

Captive of an ancient curse, Astrid must journey through the ages, through deceit and betrayal, to find true love and break the curse....

Babylon.... When Astrid touches an ancient Babylonian necklace, she's thrust into the the life of a priestess in the temple of Marduke. When the temple is captured by an Assyrian warrior, he claims all inside as his own ... including her.

Britain.... The heat between Astrid and Duncan becomes incandescent. When she finds a pair of Viking gold medallions, she re-lives her life as Starr, daughter of a village headman about to be forced into marriage with a man she doesn't like or trust. Her flight sends her into the arms of Ragnar, a Viking.

Eight realms await her. Eight chances to redeem herself and break the curse holding her spellbound...perhaps for eternity....
